Part 2: Web Accessibility Basics – Manual Screen Reader (Digital Accessibility Webinar)

Wednesday, , from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. PT

In the second part of the series, we will focus on the desktop screen reader testing with JAWS and NVDA on Windows 11 with Chrome, demonstrating how to navigate web pages using common commands like Say All, testing with the Tab key, and interacting with links, buttons, carousels, and other interactive content. Participants will learn to test focus management, verify proper form labeling and error message handling, and identify common accessibility barriers that prevent screen reader users from accessing content. We will demonstrate how to systematically evaluate pages as an expert accessibility evaluator would, carefully examining any issues encountered and correlating them to WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines. Join Michael Parker and Marisa Church as they guide you through comprehensive desktop screen reader testing using JAWS and NVDA.
