Part 3: Web Accessibility Basics – Manual Mobile Testing (Digital Accessibility Webinar)
Spread the word
Wednesday, , from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. PT
In the final part of our series, we will shift focus to mobile testing, addressing the unique challenges of touch-based interfaces and mobile screen readers. We will demonstrate how to enable and use VoiceOver, and TalkBack on Android, covering essential gestures, commands, and navigation patterns specific to mobile devices. Participants will learn to test mobile-specific accessibility features including touch targets (ensuring they meet minimum size requirements), gesture-based navigation, and the crucial but often overlooked external keyboard support for users who cannot use touchscreens. We'll explore how to verify that mobile web content properly reflows, that interactive elements like carousels and dialogues work with assistive technology, and that all functionality remains accessible regardless of device orientation. Join Michael Parker and Marissa Church as they demonstrate comprehensive mobile accessibility testing techniques using VoiceOver and TalkBack.
